Q: What is the mission of the Riverside-Bradford Baseball League?
A: R-B teaches good sportsmanship and the fundamentals of hitting, bunting, fielding, and stealing, while building a positive self-image in a healthy competitive environment. This is the foundation upon which the league is built. To achieve this objective R-B will provide a supervised program under the revised rules of Little League Baseball. All Directors, Officers, and Members shall bear in mind that the attainment of exceptional athletic skill or the winning of games is secondary, and the molding of future citizens is of prime importance. R-B shall operate exclusively as a non-profit educational organization providing a supervised program of competitive baseball games. No part of the net earnings shall inure to the benefit of any private individual.

Q: Who can participate in the R-B League?
A: R-B accepts boys and girls from throughout Haverhill (exceptions can be made by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.) We believe that meeting new friends from different parts of the community is an important part of growing up, Whenever possible, we honor requests to keep friends on the same team.

Q: What are the age levels for the league?
Players are assigned to a division based primarily on their age.We recognize, however that players and families may occasionally have circumstances which may warrant an exception to the league guidelines.You can find information about the various divisions by visiting our "About Us" page.

Q: Do players get "cut"?
RBteams do not cut players. All eligible children will be placed on a team during the regular season.

Q: Are there rules regarding minimum playing time?
All players will bat throughout the game in all RB divisions. No player can sit more than two defensive innings, which ensures that everyone gets the opportunity to participate.

Q: When are games and practice held?
A: The regular season generally runs from mid-April to late June. Depending on the division, most teams play two games per week.Some divisionshave playoff series to determine a divisional champion.

Instructional (T-Ball) Division(ages 5-6):Typically one weekday game and one weekday practice per week. Game days vary, but practices are held on the same day each week. Games and practices start at 6:00 p.m.

Minor Division (ages 6-7):Typically two games and one practice per week. Game days vary and may include Sunday afternoons. Practices are typically held on Saturday or Sunday. Most games start at 5:30 p.m.

Major/Minor Division(age 8):Typically two games and one practice per week. Game days vary and may include Sunday afternoons. Practices are typically held on Saturday or Sunday. Most games start at 5:30 p.m. Players pitch 1/2 the game and a coach pitches the other half.

Single A & Double A Divisions (ages 9-10):Typically two games and one practice per week. Game days vary and may include Sunday afternoons. Practices are typically held on Saturday or Sunday. Most games start at 5:30 p.m.

Major 60 & Major70 Divisions(ages 11-12):Typically two games and one practice per week. Game days vary and may include Sunday afternoons. Practices are typically held on Saturday or Sunday. Most games start at 5:30 p.m.

Q: Where are games played?
A: Games are played at various locations throughout Haverhill (see the "Fields" link toview all R-B fields).

Q: What are the fees to participate?
A: This depends on the age of the participant. We're confident that R-Bcontinues to be one of the most cost-effective baseball programs in the Merrimack Valley. The 2018 fees for participation are listed at the top of this page.

Q: How do I register?
Registration is open at certain times of the year depending on the program. To register, visit our website at www.rbbaseball.org and click on the "Register Now" link. We plan on opening registration for the Spring 2019 season by the end of October 2018.

Q: Can I volunteer as a coach, scorekeeper, etc.?
A: Absolutely! R-B could not survive without the tireless efforts ofour volunteers. When you register a player, you can sign up for several different volunteer positions. You may also tell us about your interest in volunteering bycontactingone of our Board members.
